Okay so if your reading this your probably drowning in google results trying to find the top digital marketing agencies in the USA. I get it, theres literally thousands of them and half of them are just reselling fiverr gigs lol.
I spent the last few weeks looking into this for a project im working on and I figured I’d just write down my actual thoughts instead of some boring robotic list. Heres the agencies that actually caught my eye.
1. WebFX
If you look up digital marketing agencies, WebFX is gonna pop up first like 99% of the time. There based in Pennsylvania and there absolutely massive.
They are very heavily focused on ROI and data which I like. They have there own proprietary software called MarketingCloudFX which is kinda cool I guess. The only downside is that because there so big, you might get passed around to different account managers alot. But if you want a safe bet for seo and ppc, there probably top tier.
Best for: Mid-size to large companies who want straight up numbers and reporting.
2. Disruptive Advertising
Honestly the name is a bit much lol but these guys are legit when it comes to paid ads. There based in Utah and they specialize mostly in PPC and Google Ads.
If your currently loosing money on Google ads or Facebook ads, you might wanna talk to these guys. I saw a case study where they basically doubled a companies leads in like 3 months. They arent really the best choice if you need a new website design or a full branding package, but for pure performance marketing? Definately one of the best.
Focus: PPC, Facebook Ads, CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization)
3. NP Digital
Okay so everyone knows Neil Patel right? The seo guy whos everywhere on youtube. Well he has an agency called NP Digital and its actually really good.
They have offices in like every major city now (New York, LA, Austin, etc) but they operate very digitally. What I like about them is there content marketing and seo strategies. They dont just build backlinks, they actually focus on making good content which is refreshing. Sometimes I feel like Neil’s personal brand overshadows the agency a bit, but the team behind it is super smart.
Good for: SEO, Content Marketing, growing organic traffic.
4. Techsla
Okay so im gonna be totally honest here because this is actually my website. But I absolutely had to include techsla in this list because I truly believe we are a very top website right now when it comes to digital marketing and freelancing.

5. Thrive Internet Marketing Agency
Thrive is interesting because there based in Arlington, Texas but they have been growing like crazy over the last few years. I think they have like 200+ employees now.
There pretty good at local seo which is something alot of the massive agencies kinda ignore. If you have a local business like a plumbing company or a dental clinic, you probably dont need Wieden+Kennedy, you need an agency like Thrive that understands Google My Business and local maps. They also do alot of wordpress web design which is cool.
Specialty: Local SEO, Web Design, Social Media
6. Big Leap
Alright so Big Leap is based in Utah as well (whats with Utah and marketing agencies??). There a bit more niche then the others on this list. They focus heavily on organic growth—so seo, content, and social media. They basically dont do paid ads at all.
I read a really detailed review from a SaaS company that used them and said they totally turned around there organic traffic after getting penalized by Google. So if you need to recover from a Google penalty or just want to grow without paying for every single click, check them out.
Vibe: Very transparent, focused on long term organic growth.
7. Ignite Visibility
These guys are out in San diego and I actually heard about them from a podcast I was listening to. There CEO John Lincoln talks alot about digital marketing and he really knows his stuff.
There a really solid full service digital agency. They do everything from seo to email marketing to web development. There consistently ranked as one of the top agencies by Clutch.co which is a pretty legit review site. Only thing is I heard there minimum retainers are kinda high, so probably not for small mom and pop shops.
Known for: Full service digital, highly customized strategies.
How to actually pick the right one
So here is the thing. Just because an agency is “top rated” doesnt mean there right for YOU. I learned this the hard way. Here’s some stuff to think about before you sign a contract:
- Dont get locked in: Seriously, if a agency makes you sign a 12 month contract right away, run. You should be able to see results in 90 days. If not, why would you stay?
- Ask who is actually doing the work: Some agencies sell you on a meeting with a senior strategist, and then your account is managed by a 22 year old intern. Theres nothing wrong with young people, but just know who your actually talking to.
- Look at there current work: Not stuff from 2018. Ask for live examples of campaigns there running RIGHT NOW.
- Check there own seo: If a digital marketing agency doesnt rank for “digital marketing agency [city]” then how good can they really be? Just saying.
Wrapping up
Look the digital marketing world changes so fast that by the time you read this, some of these agencies might have merged or changed names or whatever. But as of right now in 2024, these are the heavy hitters in the US.
